In the Field: Our Work

How Does The System Work?
Here’s a quick diagram and example to illustrate how it works

The most reliable and common method for reducing radon levels in a home is active sub-slab suction, also known as subslab depressurization. This method involves inserting one or more suction pipes through the floor slab into the soil or crushed rock underneath, or from outside the home below the concrete slab. A fan then creates suction in the pipe, drawing radon gases away from living spaces and out through an exit point, usually above the roofline. This method can reduce indoor radon levels by 80–99%.
